Passwordless Authentication- a Positive or Negative Impact on Fraud?
No other technology is more pervasive and hated by security and fraud professionals than the password. Passwords have proven to be the combination of poor security and even worse usability. Even well intentioned users find it hard to comply with various complexity and rotation requirements without reusing or writing down passwords. Apple, Google and Microsoft recently announced a commitment to support FIDO standards to enable passwordless sign-ins. Does this mean the end of passwords altogether?
