State of Privacy: California Takes the Lead With CCPA
IAPP's Caitlin Fennessy and Perkins Coie's Dominique Shelton Leipzig Analyze New Law
Organizations have been scrambling to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act before enforcement begins in July, say Caitlin Fennessy, research director of the International Association of Privacy Professionals, and Dominique Shelton Leipzig, a partner at law firm Perkins Coie.

Fennessy is the research director of the IAPP, as well as a senior privacy fellow. Previously, she served as director of Privacy Shield for the U.S. International Trade Administration, after working on the ITA's data flows and privacy team.
Shelton Leipzig is a partner in the Privacy & Data Security group of Perkins Coie, and global co-chair of the firm's Ad Tech Privacy and Data Management practice.
