Reducing Security Complexity a Top Challenge for CISOsCisco's Jeff Reed on the Automation, Visibility and Integration Imperative
Reducing security complexity remains one of the toughest challenges facing CISOs, driven by the non-stop increase in threats, says Jeff Reed of Cisco.
While many organizations are reducing the number of tools they use, creating a sustainable solution to the complexity problem also requires vendors to ensure their tools are increasingly interoperable and facilitate improved visibility as well as automation, he says.
In a video interview with Information Security Media Group at RSA 2020, Reed also discusses:
- Why security's worst enemy is complexity;
- Findings from Cisco's CISO Benchmark Study;
- The need for better infrastructure automation, visibility and integration.
Reed is senior vice president of product for Cisco's Security Business. Previously, Reed served in a variety of other roles at Cisco and held a number of senior positions in large-scale enterprise software businesses.
