VASCO's LaSala on Enhancing Security Without Affecting Customer Experience

Banking customers want their data to be protected, but they don't want security to impede their user experience, says Will LaSala of VASCO Data Security.

In a video interview at Information Security Media Group's recent 2015 San Francisco Data Breach Prevention and Defense Summit, LaSala describes ways banks can provide good customer service while at the same fortifying mobile banking security. He also discusses:

  • How banks can remove points of friction for mobile banking customers;
  • What safety measures banks can take that don't involve the end user; and
  • The ways in which VASCO's authentication solution enables banks to add desired customer functionality without jeopardizing security.

LaSala has been leading the U.S. services team at VASCO Data Security for almost 15 years. He has directed a number of large international and domestic strong authentication projects for major banks, corporations, cloud companies and online gaming publishers, overseeing all technical aspects of deployment, implementation and logistics. Before joining VASCO, LaSala worked as a senior systems engineer and developer for a consulting firm in New England. A frequent presenter at cybersecurity and cloud computing events, including Cloud Security Alliance and NACHA Payments, LaSala's research interests include the use of mobile and wireless technology to simplify security.
