The hacking subculture has been emboldened by a lack of prosecutions for cybercrime worldwide, says Tom Kellermann of Carbon Black, who addresses the evolving threat landscape.

“Many of the world’s best cybercriminals are being protected by nation-states,” Kellerman says.
In a video interview with Information Security Media Group at the recent RSA Conference 2019 in Singapore, Kellermann also discusses:
- The need to have a new design for incident response;
- How security practitioners need to come up to speed;
- Sectors that are bearing the brunt of cyberattacks.
Kellermann, chief cybersecurity officer at Carbon Black, is the former CEO at Strategic Cyber Ventures. He's a cyber intelligence expert, author, professor and leader in the field of cybersecurity. He held a seat on the Commission on Cyber Security for the 44th President of the United States and served as an adviser to the International Cyber Security Protection Alliance. As chief cybersecurity officer for Trend Micro Inc., he was responsible for analysis of emerging cybersecurity threats and relevant defensive technologies.
