Data: The New Perimeter

Charlie Pulfer, VP Product Management, Titus
Data security used to be about building firewalls and protections around the data. Now it's about securing the data itself. That's why data is the new perimeter, says Charlie Pulfer of Titus.

But technology alone will not improve data security, says Pulfer, VP of product management. Security leaders also need to enlist the help of their end users - raise their awareness of where sensitive data resides and how it can be classified and protected.

In an interview recorded at RSA Conference 2013, Titus discusses:

  • The new dynamics of data;
  • How to find and secure sensitive data;
  • How to enlist end users to help secure data.

Pulfer brings over 20 years of IT sales, marketing and product management experience to TITUS. His responsibilities include defining the vision for TITUS products as well as all marketing activities. He previously held management positions in product management and business development at Entrust.net Inc., where he led the development of web certificate products as well as digital signature security solutions. Previous to Entrust, he spent seven years at Microsoft building successful customer and partner relationships. While at Microsoft, he was responsible for growing the Microsoft Certified Solutions Provider channel. Pulfer started his career at IBM where he acted as a Systems Engineer and Consultant specializing in database and application development tools.
