CyberEdBoard is a private, vendor-free, global environment for CISOs and senior security executives ensuring members share the same scope and complexity of their roles regardless of borders. The community is led by a nine-member advisory board and includes hundreds of members in 13 countries from entities such as Kaiser Permanente, Health Partners Plans, Independence Blue Cross, Cielo and 7-Eleven.
Members now have a reliable resource that will make it easy to enhance their personal brands, engage with like-minded peers in actionable groups and projects, access critical content and education material, give back to developing leaders as a trusted mentor and have the ability to engage with security leaders in different locations and time zones 365 days a year.
The community is designed to strategically connect members by industry, such as healthcare and finance, as well as by topic to ensure CISOs have a platform to focus on needs unique to their given environment. It spans the globe from North America to Australia.
“ISMG is committed to advancing the cybersecurity industry by creating collaborative opportunities that connect CISOs and industry practitioners globally,” says Information Security Media Group CEO Sanjay Kalra. “By joining the world's largest network focused solely on cybersecurity, CyberEdBoard will provide a safe environment for leaders to exchange intelligence, education and influence.”
Guiding Principles
CyberEdBoard is built on four guiding principles:
- Community: Sharing common challenges, a common set of goals and perhaps even a common set of solutions - that’s the notion of the CyberEdBoard community.
- Leadership: Cybersecurity leadership skills are a must-have for long-term career growth. Learn from fellow CyberEdBoard members about how they deal with leadership challenges on a daily basis.
- Information Sharing: From avoiding pitfalls with certain security technology implementations to the selection of specific technology vendors, there’s no substitute for information sharing that’s meaningful, unbiased and truly confidential.
- Intelligence: Membership in the CyberEdBoard community, combined with leadership skills and information sharing, provides each member with the knowledge necessary to master any cybersecurity resiliency program.
ISMG is perfectly positioned to create and manage such a community because of its deep understanding of the industry, which comes from operating trusted media and event arms that generate a massive amount of content from respected industry practitioners touching every aspect of the cybersecurity industry.
Collaborative Environment
The CyberEdBoard app, a dedicated community engagement platform, enables a high level of communication and interactivity. The app provides executive members with a collaborative environment where they can easily take advantage of the community’s unique member-driven benefits on their own time.
Adam Glick, a member of the founding advisory team who is vice president and CISO at Rocket Software, points out aspects that he finds particularly useful.
“First is the lack of a time constraint, with users able to engage or attend events at a time of their choosing,” he says. “The absence of sponsors or a sales component also allows nothing but direct and unimpeded interaction between the CISO members.
“During this time of working from home and limited travel opportunities, like-minded security executives now have a place to meet. You don't need a local event; you can interact with people from all over the world while gaining ideas from CISOs in different countries and continents. That's going to help us all improve."
The CyberEdBoard community is accepting applications from qualified CISOs and senior security stakeholders. To submit your application for membership consideration, visit cyberedboard.io.
