Legacy tools and applications often prevent enterprises from adopting effective continuous monitoring, says Ranndeep Chonker, manager security and risk practice, Asia & India at ServiceNow.

“Organizations often understand what controls need to be brought in to meet the local laws of the land, they understand what needs to be complied to,” Chonker says. “The issue is unavailability of data to be able to define controls, compliances and audit changes. Any changes that have to be looked at can happen only when the data is available online and in real time. Also there needs to be an analytical ability for you to define what would be the logical next step.”

In this video interview previewing an upcoming virtual roundtable discussion, Chonker also discusses:

  • The myths surrounding continuous monitoring;
  • How continuous monitoring helps in compliance;
  • Challenges in implementing monitoring tools.

Chonker is manager security and risk practice, Asia & India, at ServiceNow, where he is responsible for security incident response, vulnerability response and GRC in the region.
