Some Asian nations have a lot of catching up to do when it comes to protecting consumers’ privacy, says Rob Hinson of OneTrust, who offers a regional assessment.

“There are gaps with regard to breach notification requirements; certain countries still do not have privacy regulations,” Hinson says.

In a video interview with Information Security Media Group at the recent RSA Conference 2019 in Singapore, Hinson discusses:

  • Privacy maturity in Asia;
  • How privacy and security overlap;
  • How privacy protection is progressing in the region.

Hinson is a privacy expert at OneTrust. He advises organizations on creating, implementing and managing privacy programs to operationalize compliance with hundreds of regulations.
