Cyber Threat Intelligence: What You Know Can Help You

Cyber Threat Intelligence: What You Know Can Help You

The Department of Homeland Security is at the nexus of the voluntary federal program in which the private sector shares cyber threat information with the government and with other businesses. To encourage participation, Congress last year changed federal law to furnish businesses with liability protections from lawsuits when they share cyber threat information, such as malicious code, suspected reconnaissance, security vulnerabilities and anomalous activities, and identify signatures and techniques that could pose harm to an IT system. The DHS-run initiative provides antitrust exemption for sharing threat data among businesses. In this session you will learn how DHS is establishing an automated system to share cyber threat information in real time.
